Videosync 2 Black Screen Issue

Hey guys, I’m new here. :waving_hand:t3:

Been loving using Videosync 2 which has been fine until the new update into 2.1.. Having an issue which I can’t seem to figure out no matter what I do..

Basically, the Videosync Application isn’t outputting any video even though it says connected, etc. No instruments, no raw footage, nothing..

I’m using Ableton Live 12 Suite. Tried with a completely new default set. Deleted tracks & added new ones. Have tried disconnecting all other control surfaces besides ‘Showsync’, etc..

BTW, Live’s native video output works fine, it’s just Videosync that isn’t cooperating.

Usually when Videosync has worked for me in the past there would be large dips in FPS & the application would be slower to navigate, which wasn’t ideal but it still output video. Now everytime I open VS with Live it says ‘connected’, Frame Rate stays around 60 & the application itself seems to run smoothly except all I ever get is a Black Screen.

Can anyone help me figure out this issue? I was really excited about this new update, especially the video recorder device. Now I’ve just been troubleshooting for days & getting frustrated..

My Specs:

Windows 11 Pro, 13th Gen Intel Core i9 (320Ghz), 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super, Ableton Live 12 Suite

Hey Gio, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. I’ve written you a message over DM.

Some updates.

Just in case anyone was wondering I have a relatively complicated set up. 6 monitors😅 all around 60 Hz refresh rate & audio routing through Voicemeter Banana.

I solved one problem of having No video, although a new one has emerged. Now, I am ONLY able to get video in Videosync if I double click/Ctrl-F for Full screen mode, & only on 3 of the 6 monitors it seems, though my main display is what I usually use for Videosync/Ableton Live. In 2.0 I was able to get video in Windowed mode fyi & I had the same set up.

I did try disconnecting the other monitors to see if this would fix the issue with no luck..

Another issue is the new devices “Video Monitor” as well as “Gradient” are crashing Ableton when Videosync is open. Loads onto the relative track just fine, but if Videosync is open or I open it after Video Monitor is on track, Live crashes.

Seems I’m not able to use Videosync to it’s fullest capacity with my current set up. I’ll try simplifying what I have & report back with any more updates.

If anyone on the team needs any other info from me don’t hesitate to ask. I know it’s a real head scratcher..:man_shrugging:t2:

@Jean-Paul thanks for the call & my apologies about the complications

Thanks again for reporting this, Gio! We’ve since seen a similar case and traced it back to systems with multiple GPUs driving several displays. We’ve added your case as Scenario 2 on this new page under the Troubleshooting section of the Videosync manual. I hope this clears it up for any future readers.
