Videosync 2.1.6
Ableton Live 12.3.1
Beam 2.0.6
I have a Live-Set including Videosync and Beam devices. It runs perfectly until a duration of about 4 hours. Then Ableton freezes. Whereas video playback and processing keeps running, in fact. However, no more audio from Ableton.
I tested it without Beam and Videosync open. It still crashes. Which points towards the Max for Live devices.
I deleted the Videosync Max for Live devices (but kept the Beam ones) in this particular Live-Set. It did NOT crash anymore.
How can this be fixed?
Thank you
Hey Philipp,
We’ve been aware of this issue for a while, but it’s been very hard to debug, considering it only seems to make Live freeze (beachball) after a few hours. However, not having either of our applications open with the freezing still happening is a nice clue.
We do have an idea about what could be the cause of this issue, and we will release updates in the near future for Beam and Videosync to attempt to address this. It’s hard to say at this point however if it will be a definitive fix, so please let us know if things seemed to have improved after updating, once the updates are out.
Also, since the issue seems to be in the Max for Live device files, be sure to update all devices in your Live Set(s) to the latest upcoming versions. More info on how to do that in the other topic you’ve opened.
