videosync not connected

Hello,

I have made all the steps of the installation without problems, loaded the right script in ableton etc. Now I load one of the demo set, but the videosync screen keep telling “main out - not connected”. Don’t know why…

I am using videosync 2.1 / Sonoma 14.7

Any help would be appreciated…

Could you please verify the following:

  • Is the Showsync Control Surface selected on the “Link, Tempo & MIDI” tab of Live’s Settings window?
  • Is the “Connect to Live Remotely” toggle disabled, at the bottom of the Video tab of Videosync’s Settings window?
  • Are you using a VPN that’s active? If yes, does disconnecting/shutting down the VPN help?
  • If you don’t use a VPN, do you use any other network management application that could be limiting network activity?

On macOS the built-in firewall normally doesn’t block connections over localhost (127.0.0.1), since it only filters incoming traffic from outside. Some third-party firewalls or managed system policies can interfere though. If this is a school- or company-managed computer, that could be why Videosync can’t connect. I’d suggest checking with your system administrator to confirm whether the firewall is blocking localhost connections.
