Videosync 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 released

Dear all,

Today marks the official release of 0.8.3 and its quick followup 0.8.4. For this release we did two important things:

First, we added a complete set of blend modes. All the blend modes that you know from your favourite photo editing tool are now available in Videosync as well. Find them in the Extender plugin.

Second, we rewrote the video engine from scratch, significantly increasing performance and decreasing memory footprint. The memory usage improvement will be especially noticeable when working with multiple copies of videos in a single track. In that scenario the video is now only buffered once. Because of this re-write, we could also fix specific scenarios where hiccups could occur when starting large video files. Thanks again to our users for helping us isolate these issues!

As an extra, we added support for dark mode on the new macOS Mojave.

Of course we included several small fixes for advanced scenarios. Things like: make sure feedback between return tracks works if volume is 0 but destination is set to Pre.

As always, Videosync should give you a heads up that the update is available and allow you to click install. If you’re not in the middle of a tour, please do and let us know what you think!
