Hi everyone! First time poster. Been a HUGE fan of Videosync for about 2 years. I opened up a project that had simpler and a video loaded into it. It was empty. I thought maybe I had moved or deleted the source video from my computer thinking it was saved in the project folder, but no. I thought maybe it had to live in the project folder. Didn’t make a difference. I tried dragging it in from the Ableton browser, and the project folder and it didn’t want to take it. It only took it when I dragged it in from my downloads folder. Either way, I don’t want to have to redrag it in every time. Any thoughts?
Hey Gerry, welcome to forum! Sorry to hear about the trouble, this sounds very unsual and unexpected. Since Videosync 1.3.0 (released in August 2023), Video Simpler should notice when a file was moved, allowing you to restore settings by pointing to new file location.
I’ll reach out to you over DM to see how we can investigate this further.
Hi Jean-Paul,
So sorry for the delay. I really appreciate the response! Good news is I since figured it out and haven’t had to think about it so I kind of forgot the details of the issue.
Basically it had something to do with where I was storing files. The external SSD was in a format that wasn’t friendly to this kind of work. I backed up the whole drive to be able to reformat it to the proper format. Once all my files were back in, everything behaved as expected.
This was the same issue resulting in not being able to use video recorder to record into the same drive. That issue got fixed as well.
Thank you! Love the product and the livestreams you guys do!
I do have another very urgent problem which is the reason I came looking in the forums again. Would love to set up a Zoom call for that if possible. Will definitely keep an eye out for responses this time. The issue has to do with parameters getting locked at certain values when being modified by an envelope follower.
No problem, Gerry! Glad you could resolve the issue and thank you for the kind words!
Regarding the remaining issue you are describing, this topic comes to mind. There seem to be some issues with devices such as LFO and Envelope Follower, though the issue is in those devices specifically and is not related to Videosync. I believe Ableton is aware of this, but it won’t hurt notifying them if you are also indeed experiencing this problem.
Thank you for the reply! I took a look at the topic and it’s a bummer to learn that Ableton has this issue. Seems like a huge problem that a device that offers such functionality is essentially broken. For the time being, I will have to run my exports in the hopes that this bug doesn’t show up in those specific moments, which so far is unlikely!
I will report back if I get anywhere on the Ableton side.
Thank you!
