Video Monitor is a Syphon Server?

Hello! It seems Video Monitor works flawlessly with the Syphon Simple Client? Is that because it acts as a Syphon Server in the background? The manual had no info about this, but it was an amazing find. I was looking for a detached window version of the Video Monitor and this works like a charm. I figure this info would be helpful for others and potentially a good addon to the Videosync manual.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

That’s correct, Videosync dynamically creates/removes Spout/Syphon servers for Video Monitor and Video Recorder devices, and while access to these servers is public, it was/is not really considered as an officially supported feature, which is why it’s not documented.
Nevertheless, this is good feedback!
