Video/Audio drop outs with Mac AV adapter

Hello,

We’ve recently started using VideoSync for live shows using the Apple AV adapter to get HDMI output. This has been unreliable, we had been getting some video drop outs, with the screen going blank for a second or two before returning. On our last show we experienced audio drop outs too, which obviously can not be happening! After trying various combinations I’m pretty sure it’s the AV adapter.

Can anyone recommend a touring grade USB C to HDMI adapter, with additional power though for the Mac? I appreciate it’s not an issue with VideoSync itself but maybe someone here can recommend something from experience?

The last show I had to scrap the visuals which was a big disappointment.

For clarity, the audio interface has it’s own USB port, not via the hub but it’s still effected by the adapter being in the other USB port.

Set up is a MBP M1, audio out to RME MADIFace USB, second USB port has the HDMI from said Apple adapter.

Hey there and welcome to the forum! Great question! I’ve gone through a fair share of hubs and adapters over the years, and eventually landed on the Anker 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1) - Anker US.
