U King Fixtures Intensity/Segment Overlap

I have U King ZQ-01087 PAR lights and I got them setup in Beam and figured out how to get them working in Ableton via MIDI notes and how to LFO to control the strobe channel. The built-in profile has Intensity, 3 segments (red, blue, green) and then some modulations. I am struggling with a few concepts though:

  1. I cannot get blue or green to be on w/o red on because it looks like the Intensity channel and Segment 1 (red) are mapped to the same MIDI note. I know it’s possible to control them independently because I can do it with QLC+ in 7-channel mode, but I’m not sure what to change in Beam to gain that independence. If I set the par’s intensity to 1 instead of 0, it just stays fully on all the time.
  2. I can’t figure out how to vary the intensity of the segments. Changing the velocity of the MIDI note doesn’t seem to have an effect and automating the parameters for Intensity or individual colors doesn’t seem to change it either.

Really enjoying learning Beam, as lighting is a new thing for me, but feeling a little stuck here. Thanks!

I argued with ChatGPT about this today and was able to get an updated fixture profile that i can use to automate this. I lost the ability to do MIDI notes per color, but the automation blends colors and intensity, so I’m good for now. Would still be curious what the expected behavior was from showsync’s perspective with this existing profile since it’s a “supported” fixture. Here’s my updated profile for anyone else interested.
