Two input sources side-by-side..?

quick rookie-type question: what is the simplest way to place two (or more) resized (and/or cropped) incoming image sources alongside one another?

Essentially I want two or more P-in-P windows that I can arrange

I’m trying to do this inside a single track in session mode.

the resizing/cropping I can do, but the background in that tool is opaque, so then I’m running through different filters and making parallel tracks. I’m thinking there is a simpler way…

thanks for any help

Hey Rob,

What’s the reason you want to do this on a single track in Session View? Having two sources would mean you would require two tracks. If you want to apply effects on both at once, simply group the two tracks and add effects to the group track.

Instead of using Crop Map, I would probably use Transform (on each source track) to scale down both images to say 50%, and move them to either side with the Offset parameters.

You mention " the background in that tool is opaque". I assume you’re referring to Crop Map? Are you sure you’re using the latest version of the device (found in /User Library/Videosync/2.1 Devices/Effects)? The area around the cropped selection should be fully transparent.

damn. so easy. i must have been using an earlier Crop Map. apologies. and thanks. more dumb questions later in the week…
