Ive been enjoying videosync for a few weeks now but after updating to the lasted version of videosync the user library window pops up and asks me to select the showsync control surface, however its not appearing in ableton. Any help on how to fix it? Ive deleted and reinstalled videosync a few times, didnt help, so there might be some files left not letting me reinstall the showsync control surface?
Hi! Been struggling with this back and forth for a while now and managed to resolve it!
Looks like the issue stemmed from me having a bunch of files stored in onedrive and not on my pc locally. Im not sure as to what caused the issue itself with the the control surface being visable in ableton tho. After looking at were the remote script for showsync was installed at and realising it was in onedrive, i deleted it, deleted videosync and reinstalled and that fixed the issue!
Does onedrive usually cause isssues like this?
Hey Torstein, welcome to the forum and thank you for reporting this here. I’m glad you were able to figure out what was wrong.
Cloud services like Onedrive can indeed interfere by removing the files locally after uploading them to the cloud. Only when Live starts it checks for Control Surfaces, so if the files aren’t there, Live won’t wait until Onedrive may download it (if Onedrive even does that).
If you do prefer keeping your User Library in a cloud folder, then best mark it for offline availability.
