Probably stupid question, but I want to map a video instrument (on an audiotrack) to the midi notes of the clip that is used fro the drumrack in a midi track. So it is a kind of tabula device, but the outputs are not colors but values for the controls. Any ideas? thanks Guido
I’ve put envelope followers in the lanes of the drumrack, and then could map to the controls of the audiodevices. That requires some ‘tuning’ but it seems to work reasonably. Still curious if there is a better way though. kr Guido

That’s indeed one way to do it. Another could be to use the “Shaper MIDI” effect instead. It’s another Max for Live device by Ableton, found in the Modulators category. This way, you can shape the envelope yourself directly, instead of making it follow audio amplitude.
