Latency and lag between audio and video when I record

Good Morning,

When I record video via Video Recorder Fx (Videosync 2.1) I notice that on the rendered video there are problems in the fluidity of video and a small latency of it (audio is in sync, video have at least 10ms of latency).

I have only an audio track. No Ableton audio plugin involved, no realtime tweaking of audio or video.

In the window preview all works perfectly, fluid and in sync.

I just tried to do a screen recording and the quality of video is perfect.

I’m on MacBook Pro M1 Max with 32 GB ram and 24 core gpu.

Export settings: H264, 60 fps, !920x1080

Anyone can help me? Thanks

Hi there, and welcome to the forum!

We are aware that there is a slight desync between audio and video when recording using the Video Recorder device. This is something we aim to address in upcoming updates. Until then, a simple workaround could be to add Live’s “Delay” effect in front of the Video Recorder device, to delay the audio with about 50-100ms.

Hi Jean-Paul,

thank you for your reply and for the suggestion. I’ll try your solution later today.

Regarding the issue with the video recording being choppy rather than smooth, is there anything I can do about that? Unfortunately, with this behavior the quality of the final output is compromised. So far, the only workaround I’ve found is to record the screen using the built-in macOS screen recording feature, then re-import the video into Ableton, manually re-sync it with the audio, and export it again with the music. This process is quite cumbersome and ends up costing me a lot of time.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions — this is very important to me.

Thanks again for any advice you can share.

Have a great day.
