Green stripe across top of preview window

HI,

Im getting a weird issue where there is a green stripe across the preview window whenever I play a movie file in the arrangement page. Is this an issue with the codec?

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Charlie. As far as we are aware, this only happens on Windows. What codec are you using for this particular video, and what is the resolution of the video? Would you be able to share the video with us?

Hi,

here’s an example video

Hey Charlie, thanks for that! What I meant to ask actually is if you could send that original video, the one that shows the green bar at the top of the Videosync window.

Here is a similar example

Inrterestingly, I just bounced a video animation out of from davinci resolve fusion and then imported into ableton for videosync and there is no green stripe across the top of the screen

I’m having the same problem. Is there any solution? I want to buy the license but hesitant. Thank you.

Hi there! Welcome to the forum and thank you for reporting this issue. This seems to have to do with this change mentioned in the release notes for Videosync 2.1.10:

  • Videosync now uses hardware-accelerated video decoding on Windows where supported, so video clips on Audio Tracks appear more quickly and CPU usage is reduced.

Until we resolve the issue in a future update, you can download Videosync 2.1.9 here.

Apologies for the inconvenience!

Hi Jean-Paul and everyone,

i have the same issue as well. Windows user. As a workaround i’m currently playing videos from simpler: from there no problem.

I don’t think i’m downgrading because the hardware acceleration upgrade is so good! Changed the performances and my pc fans stress drastically. Hope you will find a solution though.

I love Videosync btw!
