Is there any way to create data output from an ISF shader in the Shader Device?
I’m trying to create something that can track the luminance data from an image input and use it to map to audio pan controls, but mapping the Shader Device controls in a group doesn’t appear to be reversible, ie: the Macro always determines the ISF Device control positions. Perhaps I am mistaken? Is there another way of achieving this?
Hey Rob! I believe you contacted us by email for a similar request a while ago already. I don’t think this is a feature specific to the ISF Shader device, but should rather be a separate device, something like a “Color/Luminance Follower”, similar to Live’s own Envelope Follower for audio. We have an internal ticket for this .
sorry Jean-Paul. I think I had a chat with Tarik about it a while back, based on his Measure Colour ISF, and then I forgot, or confused it with something similar on another forum. Apology for the repetition.
But yes, it would be amazing to be able to use chroma/luma image data in the Ableton ‘Follower’ style. I wasn’t aware you had a ticket running on it. Thanks!
