Just purchased VideoSync. Machine OS is Windows 10. Ableton version is Live 11 intro. Installation all seemed to go OK but cannot seen to drag and drop MP4 into an Audio Track. Also, sidebar does not seem to show Movie type also. Any tips…

Hi Glenn, welcome to the forum!
The behavior you’re seeing is related to the version of Live you’re running. Videosync 2 officially supports Windows starting from Live 12, which introduced an updated internal video engine that no longer depends on third-party video decoders. Live 11 on Windows relies on those decoders, which can cause compatibility issues. So unfortunately, we’re unable to officially support that configuration.
That said, it may still be possible to get things working by installing the third-party video decoders that Ableton previously recommended for video playback in Live 11 on Windows. Please keep in mind that this is an unofficial workaround and results may vary, as it falls outside of what we’re able to control or troubleshoot.
If upgrading to Live 12 is an option, that would be the most reliable path forward.
Many thanks for the reply. So, updating from Live 11 Intro to Live intro 12 Intro looks like the best solution. Just to confirm that the Intro version of Live 12 will support MP4 videos without the need for any external components. Cheers…Glenn
Yes, that’s right! MP4 videos would work out of the box when using Live 12 with Videosync on Windows.
Hi Jean-Paul many thanks for the help. Ableton and Showsync work perfectly together.
Thanks again for a great piece of software. Cheers…Glenn
