Hi! I’ve just bought VS2 Pro after seeing it on a YouTube video. Really cool, having lots of fun with it so far. I see that it’s been asked before if it’s possible to do any kind of waveform or frequency visualisation. One user indicated that they might’ve found a solution in another post but they didn’t elaborate. Is there any way to do this? It’s probably the only thing missing for me right now. Only other thing I can do is run the song through Magic Music Visualiser and do a visualisation there, save to video and import into the Live session. That might work but I’d rather it was dynamic. Or perhaps it’s possible to make one using envelope followers mapped to transform functions on shape layers but I don’t know how to get an envelope to respond to a certain frequency band. Thanks in advance for any solutions! ---

Hi and welcome to the forum! While Videosync does not come with audio analysis visualizers out of the box, there are ways to explore. We had a similar question [on our Discord server](https://discord.com/channels/1155509441345617991/1155516277419421807/1343597861484363826) a while back. @Luka was so kind to answer there with an example shader for an oscilloscope: [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/UAjfVzSXxII/maxresdefault.jpg "Videosync: simple oscilloscope") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAjfVzSXxII) In that same Discord thread are also talks on how you could approach doing a simple frequency analyzer, with for example 8-16 bands using Envelope Followers. When it comes to making Envelope Followers react to specific frequency ranges, you could insert an EQ8 or a Vocoder before the Envelope Follower. Hey! Thanks so much for the reply, I’ll try these out. I do hope maybe it’s something that can come to VS some day. I really love everything else about it! I’m currently exploring the possibility of maybe pairing it up with Ebosuite+Sensei as that has visualizers (which are also currently not reacting to audio input…apparently this is not a simple thing to crack!) which I can potentially output to Syphon and then into VS external in. But yeah I’ll have a mess around and see how I go 🙂 ---

Hey! Just an update for you - I’ve set Magic Music Visuals to Syphon Output, and then used the Ext In module of Video Sync and it works perfectly! Only downside is that there are two project files to manage but it’s no big deal to save the Magic Visuals project into my Live Project folder. Happy days!
