HI,

Im getting a weird issue where there is a green stripe across the preview window whenever I play a movie file in the arrangement page. Is this an issue with the codec?

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Charlie. As far as we are aware, this only happens on Windows. What codec are you using for this particular video, and what is the resolution of the video? Would you be able to share the video with us?

Hey Charlie, thanks for that! What I meant to ask actually is if you could send that original video, the one that shows the green bar at the top of the Videosync window. 🙂

Hi there! Welcome to the forum and thank you for reporting this issue. This seems to have to do with this change mentioned in the release notes for [Videosync 2.1.10](https://support.showsync.com/release-notes/videosync/2.1#2110):

> - Videosync now uses hardware-accelerated video decoding on Windows where supported, so video clips on Audio Tracks appear more quickly and CPU usage is reduced.

Until we resolve the issue in a future update, you can download Videosync 2.1.9 [here](https://showsync-builds.ams3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/videosync/jp/revert_MF_LOW_LATENCY/2026_03_07_05477aeda_Release/Videosync%202.msi).

Apologies for the inconvenience!

Hi Jean-Paul and everyone,

i have the same issue as well. Windows user. As a workaround i’m currently playing videos from simpler: from there no problem.

I don’t think i’m downgrading because the hardware acceleration upgrade is so good! Changed the performances and my pc fans stress drastically. Hope you will find a solution though.

I love Videosync btw!

I am also evaluating if I should buy. I will be waiting until the issue is resolved as I too want to take advantage of the hardware acceleration.

FYI, I expect green/purple lines only to appear when using video clips with heights that are not divisible by 16. 1080 for example does not result in a round number when dividing it by 16, while 720 does. If you need to work with a resolution of approximately 1920x1080, exporting your videos with a height of 1088 is a possible workaround, albeit it a very inconvenient one.
It’s a complicated issue on our end, and we hope to resolve in the not too distant future.

Hi @chalkyg, @OpalDusk, @Meco, @scottrcalhoon,

We now have a beta build ready that addresses this issue. It would be great if you could give it a try to see if it indeed resolves the issue for you, and let us know! You can ~~download it using this link~~.

The beta build is a separate application (Videosync Beta), so you can install (and run) it alongside the regular application. The beta build specifically addresses just this issue, so apart from that it’s the same as Videosync 2.1.11. If we don’t receive any negative feedback within the next 1-2 weeks, we’ll release 2.1.12 with this fix, and you can uninstall the beta application again, and update the regular application.

Let me know if you have any questions!

HI all, Im on Windows 11 pc. Currently trying this beta and for me the green screen no longer appears in the main window, however now I cant seem to get spout working so cant record anything in obs for a final check, and also cant seem to record any video within the video recorder in ableton so again I cant give a definite confirmation that the green stripe problem has gone away

annoying!

Thanks, Charlie

Just FYI: in previous builds I’d expect the green line to be visible with video clips with heights that are not divisible by 16 (for example 1080). So if your 1920x1080 clips now show up normally (while any other size clip does as well), then I would consider this very positive.

Anything concerning Spout is unrelated (no changes were made in this area). However, it could be that your settings were reset, and that the Main Spout output is disabled. Please [check the Settings window](https://support.showsync.com/videosync/basics/spout-syphon) to verify if the Spout outputs for the Main/Return Tracks are enabled.

Regarding Video Recorder/Monitor not displaying any video, this could be due to Scenario 1 described on [this page of the manual](https://support.showsync.com/videosync/troubleshooting/video-display-issues-on-windows-with-multiple-gpus). Could you please verify that Live and **Videosync Beta** are using the same GPU? If this used to work with the regular Videosync application, there’s a good chance that this setting was reset because the **Videosync Beta** is a different, separate application.

I can confirm that the correct GPU is showing in the task bar performance page as requested. However, I still get a blank screen in the video recorder inside ableton.

Hi all, I’ve done a bunch of tests and I don’t see the stripes anymore, neither in the VS monitor in Ableton nor in the recording from OBS/Spout.

Here the same clip, recorded with the bugged official release and the beta version with no problem.

So far i didn’t get into any other kind of malfunction.

Thank you Jean-Paul

Ive just realised that maybe I should have uninstalled the faulty version of video sync to test the new beta version?

Ill do more tests this week.

Hey Charly, no, this is not necessary. As I mentioned earlier, you can install and run the regular and Beta application side by side.

I’m specifically referring to [these steps on the troubleshooting page](https://support.showsync.com/videosync/troubleshooting/video-display-issues-on-windows-with-multiple-gpus#scenario-1-video-monitor-and-video-recorder-devices-show-a-black-screen):

> ##### **Windows 11 steps:**
>
> 1. Open `Settings` and navigate to `System > Display`.
> 2. Scroll down to “Related settings” and click on `Graphics`.
> 3. If Ableton Live and/or Videosync are not listed, click on `Add desktop app` and look up the .exe files for both applications.
> 4. Once both applications are listed, unfold their options, and under “GPU preference” select `High Performance` for both applications.
> 5. Restart Live and Videosync.

While `Videosync` may already be listed there, I’m sure `Videosync Beta` is not, because it’s a new and separate application. Therefore, add `Videosync Beta` to the list and set the GPU preference to `High Performance` so that it matches the setting for Ableton Live and the regular `Videosync` application.

This should resolve the issue of Video Recorder/Monitor showing a blank screen.
