Hello! I was wondering if it would be possible to use a grandma3 console as a DMX output for beam, or possibly to daisy chain my beam controls through a grandma3 console via the dmx input? I can fit everything into one universe I’m wondering if anyones had any experience with Ma3 Boards

Yes, that’s possible. Beam outputs regular DMX, so you can simply connect your DMX interface’s output universe to an input of the grandMA3. The opposite is also possible: connect your grandMA3 output to your DMX interface’s input to use Beam to further manipulate the lighting signal by using the [External In](https://support.showsync.com/beam-for-live/device-reference/instruments#external-in) device.

Quick follow-up to correct/clarify my earlier reply: you don’t actually need a DMX interface to connect Beam to a grandMA3.

Both Beam and the grandMA3 act as Art-Net nodes, so you can connect them directly over Ethernet using Art-Net.

One thing to note: Beam currently only supports Art-Net **input**. So if you want to send DMX from the grandMA3 into Beam, that works over Art-Net. Just to be clear, this isn’t about a DMX interface’s input either, most DMX USB interfaces do have an input, but we haven’t implemented support for that path.
