# Ableton 12 freeze / crash with Videosync

Hello Jean-Paul,

when I met you at Superbooth you mentioned reports that Envelope Followers may cause trouble. Indeed! If I delete the Envelope Follower from the particular Live-Set, there are no more freezes.  
Im relieved that after years, the cause was detected. However, an Envelope Follower to me seems the most straight forward, intuitive and simple way to make visuals sound reactive. So not being able to use any, is a big(!) downgrade! Is there anything comparable implemented in Videosync? Maybe I missed out. If not, could you program an Envelope Follower, which works?
